Drug, Alcohol and Education

Our Aboriginal Health Worker provides support to Patients experiencing Alcohol or Substance use issues.  Through pharmacotherapy treatments, referrals and advocacy support to detoxification withdrawal clinics and rehabilitation programs, One on One support, and psychologist counselling. 

Eligibility 
Our service is available to registered patients of the Medical Service who have undertaken an Aboriginal Health Assessment (715) by a General Practitioner at Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Services within the past 12 months. If you or family members are experiencing issues with substance use, please make an appointment with one of our General Practitioners (GP’s) for a referral. 

Assessments and Referrals 

The referral process to the Intake Line for Methadone and Buprenorphine Programs are provided in partnership in the Mid North Coast Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Services.  For more information please contact reception.

We have the services of an Addiction Medical Specialist every Tuesday. They are here to assist people who want information about issues associated with Drug and Alcohol use or problems. The service will link people into counselling for the underlying issues associated with their D&A issues and provide brief interventions to motive people to reduce and change their use. The service will assess individually and if required prescribe medication to help reduce cravings for Alcohol, nicotine and opioids.
