Maternal and Neonatal Care

The Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Services embodies the theme of “Strong Women (Gudhurr Galbans), Strong Babies (Gudhurr Djuli’s).”

Our objective is to create a trusting environment that is non-judgemental by understanding clients’ thoughts and feelings, with respect leading to increased effectiveness and understanding the patient’s history and heritage.

The Maternal Program is dedicated to ensuring that confidentiality is always maintained throughout their pregnancy journey.

The presence and collaboration of Aboriginal Health Workers and Aboriginal Health Practitioners plays a crucial role in ensuring Aboriginal clients and communities receive the appropriate health care working closely with the Midwife, Doctors and other health professional to help create a pregnancy care that is safe and comfortable for women.  This collaboration ensures that the care provided is not only professional but also deeply attuned to the needs and traditions of Aboriginal families.
